For those pursuing emotional and relational wellness. The fee for participation in a Marriage Enrichment Class, Support Group, or Personal Development Class is $20 and covers all curriculum.

Marriage Enrichment

Pre-Engagement/Premarital Workshop
Our 9-week pre-engagement/premarital workshop focuses on communication skills, relational maturity, financial planning, and a healthy sex life. One additional week will be provided for couples that are blending families.

There is a $100 enrollment fee per couple which includes teaching from professional counselors, a relationship assessment, and 2 counseling sessions.

Blending God’s Way
Blending God’s Way provides a support structure for blended families, and focuses on family system dynamics, marriage issues, and child training.

Support Groups

Band of Brothers (Men’s Sexual Purity)
Abundant Life Counseling Center partners with Lee’s Summit Community Church to provide a men’s group that focuses on sexual purity and support for men. The group meets on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 pm., at LSCC Cafe (1440 SW Jefferson St., Lee’s Summit, MO 64086). Band of Brothers works through a curriculum that focuses on understanding addictions and providing a safe place to build a lifestyle of accountability and freedom. DivorceCare
DivorceCare features group discussions along with videotaped seminar sessions of nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Topics include loneliness, financial survival, forgiveness, reconciliation, and spiritual growth.

DivorceCare for Kids is designed to help children ages 5-12 cope with the losses they are feeling. This ministry parallels the adult DivorceCare group, covering the same subjects on a child’s level.

Enduring Love
Enduring love provides a support system for those spouses who are dealing with the consequences of betrayal from their spouse’s struggle with sex addiction, pornography, and past infidelity and are seeking recovery. Living Free is a Christ-centered, 12-step program for those dealing with life-controlling issues. If you or a loved one struggle with substance abuse or another life-controlling problem, Living Free is here to support you.

Parenting Children with Special Needs Support Group
Loving and parenting a child with special needs comes with a variety of challenges. The support group provides parents with an opportunity to receive support, encouragement, and hope through the Word of God and the sharing of experiences. This group will meet on the 3rd Sunday of every month.

Starting Over Stronger
Recovering from dysfunctional relationships is challenging work and it all starts with a change of mindset. Whatever life has handed us, be it dysfunctional upbringings, failed friendships or toxic marriages, we are not victims and we will not live as such. Whether you are in the process of walking away have been free for a long time, find support and encouragement in your relational recovery through this group.

Understanding Your Child
This educational support group is structured around Daniel J. Siegel’s books, No-Drama Discipline, and The Whole-Brain Child. Participants will learn guidelines and practical tools to assist them in training up children, (4-12 years old) by utilizing biblical principles, scientific research, and behavioral models focused on healthy brain development.

Boundaries
This support group is structured around John Townsend and Henry Cloud’s bestselling book, Boundaries. Topics include recognizing and establishing healthy boundaries, learning when it’s okay to disappoint others, and how to say no without fear and guilt.

Voice of the Heart
“What do I do with all these feelings?” “Voice of the Heart” book and workbook by Chip Dodd is the source material for a new group created for the purpose of exploring and understanding the way God made you and your 8 core emotions. You will never say no to the things that harm you until you say ‘yes’ to the way God made you.

Her Choice to Heal
Her Choice to Heal is for those struggling with the pain of abortion and desire to find healing. This group utilizes the book and study guide by Sydna Masse of Ramah International, If you are interested in this group at a future time, please contact us.
